Hi, I'm charlotte

I wanted to take the time today to share with you my thoughts and feelings of what we can expect in the Wedding Industry in 2021. This is not another post where we reflect on the doom and gloom of 2020 and the challenges each of us faced. This is not another post to scare you into believing that 2021 is bringing about the same. Instead, we are going to be looking ahead to prepare for what is coming and what we can do to make the most of whatever is ahead in the next 11 and a half months.

Being adaptable yet creative in your solutions

Adaptability and flexibility are going to continue to benefit you in the wedding industry in 2021. You need to focus on what you can control and not focus on stressing about what you cannot. If you’re in the wedding industry, you need to be filling your clients with trust and confidence in you. This is what is going to help your business thrive. Your job is to keep on top of what is happening and confidently communicating with your clients. Making your clients feel nurtured and loved throughout this time is going to take away those last-minute panic emails that many of you will have received.

Creative solutions such as micro-weddings, pop-up weddings and all-inclusive packages are going to continue to help your business thrive. These are not back up options and should not be communicated in that way. Focus on marketing personal and intimate weddings which reduced guest lists in a positive manner. Remember getting married is a choice not a necessity for most of these couples, so you need to be able to still create a beautiful day that they will remember forever.

Simplicity is also going to be key here. By creating packages for couples it allows them to feel confident that they’re not going to have to postpone, find new dates for each vendor and stress over those details. Work together and build those vendor connections for some options for all-inclusive events.

Get those systems & procedures ready

The wedding boom is coming! If you’re so focused on the panic of postponements and cancellations, I want you to take a step back and look to the future. What is going to happen once the pandemic is behind us? A whole ton of weddings, events and celebrations. So you better be ready for it.

Vendors are going to be booking fast so make sure you’ve already formed your connections with vendors you love to work with. If you’re a planner, coordinating a lot of vendors who have limited dates available is going to be a challenge. So continue to build those relationships and connections now as that’s going to help you in the long run!

If you are manually doing the majority of things in your business, you need to start automating and using systems in your business. You should not be manually using calendars for bookings, creating invoices in Word documents and stressing over writing the same email over and over. If you want to be booking more weddings, you need to be reaching out to inquiries fast.

My recommendation is to look at an all in one system such as HoneyBook. You can use my link here to get 2 weeks free and $1 a month for your first 6 months. Trust me – you’ll thank me later!

Online marketing in the wedding industry in 2021

You should still be marketing your business now. Get the foundations laid so that when people are searching and are ready to book, they know who you are! I did a poll recently and over 80% of people said the first thing they would do when looking for vendors is to Google them. So, you better be showing up on Google! This includes setting up your Google My Business, having your SEO optimized and begin writing blogs to help your SEO further. You may want to consider Google Ads to help boost this too.

Build that know, like & trust factor on your social media profiles. Remember your target audience and as mentioned above, your job is to make couples feel loved and to confidently communicate with them.

We understand and acknowledge that 2021 isn’t quite the miracle year that we were all hoping for. However, we need to continue to focus on the things that we can control and continue to celebrate the love of the couples that we serve.

If you’re looking to make 2021 your best year yet, I’m here for you so do not hesitate to reach out so we can chat about your plans for your wedding business in 2021. Book a discovery call with me here.
